Shannon was a model but then she got shot in the face. She meets a transwoman at the hospital and they become friends. She learns that the transwoman is her brother from the beginning of the book. She also learns that her best friend is trans. Everyone is trans and nothing hurts. So they all burn down some buildings.

(I work at Burger King, and we have Transformer Toys right now, to promote the new movie.)
Woman w/ young daughter: “Hi, I’d like a Kids Meal…” At this point she looks over at the Transformer sign and wrinkles her nose. “Don’t you have any GIRL toys?”
Me: “Who says Transformers aren’t for girls? I like Transformers and I’m a girl.”
Mother (looks at her daughter unsurely): “Do you…want a Transformer toy?”
Daughter: “Yeah! Yeah! Transformers are COOL!!”
Mother (looking shocked): “Well then I’ll guess we’ll get a toy for her after all.”
